The Pet Society - Rescuing & Rehabilitating

                   Our Mission

           To Rescue and Rehabilitate

To promote humane and responsible pet ownership

To increase public awareness of  the overpopulation problem

To conduct animal rescue, sanctuary, and adoption services

Rescueing is not a job, its our LIFE .

About Us
On behalf of the orphaned animals that we serve, thank you for the opportunity to acquaint you with our life saving organization

We are a Non- Profit Group.
501C State Recognized

Governed by a Board of Directors, The Pet Society is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) no-kill organization that focuses on finding caring, loving homes for orphaned cats and dogs and ending the destruction of healthy adoptable pets who have been deemed to the Gas chamber.

Our volunteer base consists of people who are concerned about animal welfare .
The Pet Society consists of a dedicated team of Rescue Agents

Because we are not an affiliate of any national animal welfare or humane organization, we do not receive any financial assistance from these groups and we do not receive any city, county, state, or federal funding either

In order to provide food and shelter for our orphaned animals, we must consistently work to raise donations to cover daily operational costs.

May 2003, The Pet Society has saved over 1000 dogs from death row.

    Rescueing

Many gassing shelters and rescues contact us for assistance to help with many dogs who are in danger of being gassed or going to be heart sticked.

We get lists of dogs as many as 50 at a time on the list sometimes more on a weekly  basis.
We will  then conatct many people to get as many as we can saved before being GASSED  WITH CARBON MONOXIDE

Then the mission starts  we have saved some they are on their way by the end of the week we are excited to see the new faces.

But many have died due to lack of space that we do not have

OUR WORK  BEGINS:

Find  foster homes
Vet checks  vaccinations wormings  heartworm test spay neuter  / surgies

TEMP TEST
check temp. to see if they  are good  with cats  dogs  and children etc...

What issues need to be worked on

food aggression   fear  biter  dont like the leash  along with a million other behavioral issues

Most dogs we have that have alot of these issues is coming from a past who had
NO PACK LEADERSHIP
And we are able to correct with
LEADERSHIP
RULES
LIMITATIONS
TRAINING

Rehabilitation
Many of our dogs have never had a stable, loving home environment.

We work with them on behavioral issues in order to make them more adoptable.
Since they live in a home environment with other dogs during their time with us, our dogs begin to learn how to live in a home.

We begin housebreaking, basic obedience training and socialization. We strive to provide our dogs with a loving but structured environment so that they are successful in their new homes.

Training includes leash training and simple commands like leave it, sit, stay, down, and off.
But most important  we give  is LEADERSHIP
A pack with out a leader walks in the dark with no direction!

Its a simple rule to follow once we master  that  the dog becomes  more balanced  Mentally

IN The End:

Now its time to move on  find  that  dog a forever home and find our next
NEW FACES  that need us the most !
