Hi Teresa, We love Sasha!! She has been a great addition to our family.  So far she is smart, loving and really funny.
Each morning while I am at work Sasha goes to work with my husband at his small business and I pick her up around 1pm.  When the kids come home around 3 she gets a good walk and we usually take her on a longer family walk in the evening as well.
We are just finishing up a puppy training class and she has done a great job in the class. We think she is a genius!
One day I was walking Sasha in my neighborhood and a man who was driving by stopped his car and asked me where I got her.  When I told him I got her at the pet society he said “I think I have her sister!”
It ends up that he did indeed have one of her sisters (the one you had named Gretel).  Gretel and Sasha have had two playdates and it is really fun to see them together!
Thank you so much for helping us adopt Sasha.
We will keep you posted! Ruth, Jerry, Emma and Abby PS  This picture is about a month old so we will send a new one with our next update.

Teresa,
It has only been 2 days since we adopted Charlie (and yes we are keeping her name), but we couldn't be more thrilled about our new addition.  She has been adjusting wonderfully and has been so well behaved with everyone she's met.  She's had lots of visitors already since our family could hardly wait to meet her.  Here is a picture I took of her while she was exploring our back yard for the first time.  I will be sure to send more as she gets bigger.  Thank you for giving us such a blessing.  It feels like she was always meant to be ours!

Attached are some photos of Yang (renamed Misty), adopted from Petco in Middleburg Heights on February 6, 2010.
She has adapted well to our home!  She easily goes into her kennel at night and gets along well with our other rescued dogs and 4 1/2 month old son.
She's still working it out with our two cats (also rescues)---she wants to play, they want to nap! The house-breaking is coming along and she responds well to basic commands.
Misty has found her space among the many dog beds, too.
The weather has not been good for walking, but she getting her exercise in the fenced yard.  She LOVES the snow!!!
We firmly believe rescued pets make the best family members...we think they know how lucky they are and how lucky we are!
Thank you for taking such good care of her until she found us! Mike, Cyndi & Michael CafassoBean (lab mix), Auggie (Pug), Pawlie & Junior (cats)

Hello Teresa!

I just wanted to give you a quick update on Zoey.  I am sure you worry about all your rescues when they leave.  She is adapting to her new forever home great.  We love her so much.  She has made our family complete.  Our Eskimo mix Harley has a renewed spunk and we think he is sweet on her because he keeps giving up his bed for her.  The cats, Stoli & Casey are a little slower to come around but I don't think Zoey even notices.  She has a wonderful personality and she even sleeps through the night.  You were spot on when describing her personality.  She is such a joy to have.  Our son is so proud of his new puppy.  Thanks again for all you did for Zoey & for all the other animals you help save.  We are so happy our son wanted to go to the pet store this past Saturday.  We hope to bring Zoey up to visit next time you guys are around.  I'll keep you posted from time to time as well.

Thanks again!

Just wanted to take a minute and send you a few current pictures of Roxy.  She is 10 months old now and about 32 lbs.  (Much of that is hair!)  She had a fun Christmas with us and is enjoying her treats from Santa.  She is a good puppy who listens to us, most of the time.  She learned to shake hands, since we wipe her feet when she comes in wet or snowy.  The girls are progressing from that and are teaching her to High Five and Beg and Roll over.  She is very smart! We took these pictures this past weekend.  Jessica's elementary school is having a pet photo contest to raise money for the local animal shelter.  Jessie is entering Roxy in the best dressed catagory- hence the ballerina costume.  The other pic is of her on our deck, in the snow- which she Loves. We'll send you another update soon, and also let you know how Roxy placed in the contest. If you have any updated pictures of her littermates we would love to see how they are growing and changing.  Feel free to pass these pics along to their
families.

Hello!
I just wanted to write to let you know how our dog Carlisle is doing since he came home with us. I met with Roxanne at the Pet Store in Middleburg Heights 12-22 where our Pug Gizmo (12.5 years old) was able to meet the new dog. From the beginning they have been fast friends! Carlisle is a real cuddler and absolutely loves to sit on my lap while I read. He and Gizmo have lots of fun playing but both of them are quick to settle down when it's bedtime. They both sleep on pillows next to our bed. Carisle has met dozens of people over the holiday and has been very friendly with everyone. He was a little unsure at first but I think he trusts us humans a bit more now.His potty training has gone well but I still keep a close eye on him just in case. He loves walks and we have all gone out in the snow and cold!
We feel very fortunate to have found him and brought him into our home. I often wonder why someone didn't want him...Thank you for all you do and have a fantastic new year.

You knew Madison as Kit Kat .... thought we would share her most recent pictures with you.  The holiday pics were taken just a few days ago and the one by the water was used for Holly Strano's Dog Gone Weather in fall 2008.

Hope your holiday's were safe and happy -

Hi,
My husband Richard and I adopted Eddie, a three legged pit mix puppy, from you in the beginning of November 2006.  I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know how he is doing.  We moved to Oklahoma, where my husband is from, last year and I started law school.  There is no breed specific legislation here, so it is much easier to have bully breeds.  Eddie is doing very well.  He spends his days napping on the couch (see attached pictures) and playing with our other dog and any foster dogs that we might have.  He continues to be a great big brother when teaching a new foster sibling how to behave.  We love him very much and we are so glad that he is a part of our lives.

Hope your rescue is doing well!

She is a little sweetheart, a spitfire, but a sweetheart!  She and Carlie get along so well that it's not even funny.  At first Carlie wasn't much of a play buddy for her but once they got use to each other, they wrestle all of the time and CiCi has even taught Carlie how to play with toys, something she NEVER did before.  My favorite thing, though, is that they love to cuddle together.  Awwww.  They each have their own beds but 9 times out of 10 they'll sleep together.

CiCi is a really good girl.  She's very energetic and keeps us laughing all of the time.  The only annoying quality that she has is that "howl" or rather "screech" that she has. LOL.  What an annoying sound.  And we hear it often since we have a groundhog who lives behind our property and he's always coming within view of the dogs.  How can any dog have such a piercing sound????

We are so grateful to have her and feel that we got really lucky in her adoption and want to thank you.

I will try and email pictures of her. She is such a sweetie.

Thanks,
Reta

Hi Teresa!
We adopted "DaVinci" last week from you. His new name is Samwise  and we are calling him Sammy. He had his first visit to the vet this past week and they were very impressed with his care and his reaction to them. Sammy currently weighs in at just over 19 pounds. Thank you for being such a good first "mom"!

He loves this "flying squirrel" toy and boy, can this dog run fast! He is inquisitive and is great with my cats - although one of my cats is just beginning to warm up to him. My college kids thought "okay, mom has a dog" but they have already fallen in love with him too. In fact, my oldest walks in with a "hey mom" and then you hear this high excited voice say "Sammmeeeee!".

I took the attached photo of him on Wednesday and thought it captured him pretty well. Our favorite move that he makes is when he cocks his head to one side when we are talking to him. As if he is considering the point we are making.
More later,'

Hi!
We are the adoptive parents of JunaBee, the beautiful, sweet dog we adopted from your organization today.
If this is a honeymoon period, I hope it lasts forever.  She is simply amazing.  She gets along with our cats, loves walking around in our yard and the neighborhood and has turned my husband into butter.
Thank you so much for rescuing her...she deserved a longer, happier life, and I'm grateful that we have the opportunity to give her that.
We'll keep you posted on updates, including our next trip to Gateway to follow up.  And her playdate calendar with our other friends' dogs is already booked through September!

Hi,
Happy Mother's day.
I just thought I'd update you on how Zelda is doing. Wonderful. She has a new little playmate named Molleigh. Molleigh is a 9 week old beagle spaniel mix rescued from ARC.
I need to tell you that Zelda is possibly THE BEST dog in the entire world! She plays so well and gentle with Molleigh. She acts as if she is her mommy. She will allow her to climb on her and play with her. She is so very tolerant. She is also protective of her.

When I leave she looks out the window and that alone breaks my heart. Something that is 10,000 times worse is when I would leave and she wasn't there. :(
I would just like to say that you picked an excellent dog to save. You're judgement was wonderful and I can't thank you enough.

As I was writing this another thing just happened. Molleigh was playing with the cat. . . or trying to. and the cat jumped on a chair and the chair tipped over onto Molleigh. Zelda and I go running to make sure she is alright because she was crying. I pick her up and set her on the bed and Zelda was right there inspecting her top to bottom just giving her kisses. :)
Truly wonderful, remarkable, amazing dog

Hello Teresa,
Thought I would send you an update on Leonard his new name - your Alphie.
He has been here just about 6 weeks and is doing fabulous.
He is now up to 30lbs., the vet said he is exactly at the proper weight.
His hair is growing in and is beautiful, he & my other two dogs are doing very well, the two boys have their moments on sharing toys, and he plays basically only with my female who is 10 yrs. old and he wears her out!
He is 99% house trained but sure likes to chew shoes!!
Here is a photo of the two boys...
He is such a darling, and brought the household many smiles and a spark of new life since he has been here.
Thank you for all the hard work you do with rescuing these poor animals!

Hi there! I adopted a chihuahua mix in June. His name was miles, and he was being fostered by Roxanne. I thought I'd send a little update in case anyone wondered how he was doing.

We changed his name to Tofu, and he and his brother Peanut get along so well! The whole car ride home Tofu was humping peanut, but as soon as we got home that stopped and they just ran around and wrestled and barked and played. They are inseparable now! Tofu doesn't really like larger dogs we found out, so at the dog park he just sits on the bench and growls at big dogs, so we have to watch that. But other than that he's been really good. He's smart and learned some new tricks pretty quickly, and he loves to cuddle under the blankets at night.

I attached some pictures of him for you!

Hi Roxanne Just a quick note. Bella is doing wonderful. She is just a ball of energy - however if she was the mellow one of the group I feel so sorry for the owners of her brother and sisters.  She had her final distemper and rabies shot yesterday so she is all set for a year. Thank you again for her - she is a joy and my mom is having a blast with her.   Mary

My wife and I adopted Gromit (formerly Kaya) in May 2008. Teresa had rescued her, her mom, and her drastically varied siblings from being put to sleep. Gromit was only 2 weeks old at the time. She has been a wonderful addition to the family and is best buds with one of our cats. She is very goodhearted and has learned a number of tricks, even if she's a bit mischievous. She jumps in the air with excitement all the time, her excitement is contagious. Thank you Teresa for rescuing her!

Sincerely,

Nate A.
